Un año!!/ One year!!

Hola!

Un año! No me lo puedo creer, ayer hace un año empecé esta aventura que entre otras muchas cosas ha sido muy gratificante y divertida. No puedo menos que agradeceros por todo vuestro apoyo y acompañamiento, por estar ahí y seguir este blog, por vuestros comentarios e ideas, sugerencias, por darme ánimos y motivos para seguir.

One year! I cannot believe it. Yesterday, a year ago, I started this adventure which among many other things,  has been very rewarding and fun. I cannot help but thank you for all your support and accompaniment, for being there and following this blog, for your comments and ideas, suggestions, for giving me motivation and reasons to continue.

Hoy os traigo la sala de estar de Rebeca. ¿Os acordáis? así estaba/  Today I am bringing Rebecca´s lounge. Do you Remember it? It was like this:

Luego me puse a tapizar y tunear los sofás y me quedé sin tela/ Then I started to upholster and modify the sofas until I ran out of fabric.

El resto de la tela casi no llega, el primer envío se perdió en correos (que extraño, no?) y el segundo afortunadamente llegó por cuenta del correo certificado, que si no.

The rest of the fabric almost did not arrive, the first shipment was lost (strange, isn´t it?) And the second one fortunately arrived by certified mail.

En fin, os muestro/ Let me show you:

Tenía este reloj de pie antiguo que pintaba se quedaría guardado por siempre, sin embargo pensé que si no era en una casa antigua como ésta mas me valdría tirarlo a la basura. Y se me ocurrió que como es el salón donde Rebeca pasa la mayor parte de su tiempo, donde guarda los recuerdos de su amado esposo. Pues eso, que el reloj era el vestigio de esos tiempos, cuando era feliz.

I had this antique clock that looked like I would keep stored forever. However I thought that if I wasn´t going to use it in an old house like this I would better throw it away. And it occurred to me that this is the room where Rebecca spends most of her time, where she keeps the memories of her beloved husband. Well, that, the clock was a vestige of those times, when she was happy.

Y también el piano, que Ramón (¿se llamaba así el marido de Rebeca? igual me equivoco y quizás lo estoy rebautizando con otro nombre jaja), piano que Ramón tocaba virtuosamente y cuyas melodías  llenaban las tardes de ocio compartidas. No ha tenido Rebeca el corazón de renunciar a él.

And the piano, Ramon´s piano (was that Rebecca's husband name? Maybe I'm mistaken it and I'm giving him a different name Lol). A piano that Ramon played virtuously and whose melodies filled their evenings. Rebecca has not had the heart to give it up.

Y en esta salita también está la colección de relojes que Ramón y Rebeca atesoraron juntos y que complementa el gran reloj de pie./ In this room she also has the clock´s collection that they both put together and that complements the big standing clock.

Y algunos recuerdos de sus viajes de juventud que guarda junto con libros y revistas y los materiales de las labores que Rebeca hace para distraer el tiempo.

And some souvenirs from their youth travels together with books and magazines and materials for the craft work that keeps her distracted.

Y una tele antigua, en la que Rebeca ve sus programas favoritos/ And an old TV where Rebecca watches her favourite programs.

Mientras hace sus labores, toma la merienda, o recibe una visita.
While she works on her crafts, has a snack or receives someones´s visit.

Ya habeis visto como quedaron los sofás, qué tal?
Have you seen the sofas? What do you think?

Los reposa cabezas los tejí yo, jaja se nota que tejer en miniatura no es lo mío. Reconocéis los cojines de Lourdes (Siberia)? ohhh como me gustan! Sí comparáis,  mis puntadas son el doble de tamaño que las de Lourdes y me las ví negras para dar cada una. No sé como hacéis vosotras magas del gancho en miniatura.

I made the head rests, you can see that doing miniature crochet is not my thing LOL. Do you recognise Lourdes (Siberia) cushions? aww I like them a lot! If you make a comparison, my stitches are double the size than Lourdes´ and I struggled to make each one. I do not know how some of you can handle such miniature hook.

¿Notáis las borlas? hace algún tiempo quería hacer alguna, solo por probar y al final he hecho 4. Había que aprovecharlas.

Do you notice the tassels? From some time I have wanted to make some, at least to try it. In the end I made 4. So I had to give them a use.

La cortinas las hice yo, y ahora veo que hay una arruga rebelde que se salvó de la plancha, tendré que corregirlo.
I made the curtains, and now I see that there is a rebellious wrinkle that survived the iron, I shall correct that.

En este punto Caro, mi consejera de cabecera, me dice que solo hacen falta un gato y una planta en su soporte cerca a la ventana. Fácil.

At this point, Caro, my counsellor, says that I only need to add one cat and one plant near the window. Easy.

El soporte no es una maravilla, pero se ve viejo y escondido, en su rincón da el pego. A veces me dan ataques de sensibilidad y tengo que dar uso a lo que sale de mis manos, así sea un adefesio ja!

La planta sí es una maravilla y apuesto a que sabéis es de Carmen.

The base is not wonderful, but it looks old and it will be not so visible. Sometimes I get sensitivity attacks and I have to use what comes out of my hands, even if it is horrible Lol! The plant itself is beautiful, I bet you know it was made by Carmen.

Y por últimos, fotos de la salita completa, a falta de su lámpara y alguna otra cosilla que se me ocurrirá.

At last, photos of the entire room, I still have to add a lamp and I am sure one or two more things.

Y bueno, dije que habría que hacer algo para celebrar, no? Pues como me gustan los sorteos, hagamos otro para celebrar este primer cumpleaños. No he podido hacer la foto del regalo real y quería que fuera algo más "sustancioso" no se cumplen años todos los días. Así que permitanme poner 2 fotos de archivo.

Well, I said I should do something to celebrate, right? Well, as I like giveaways, let's have another one to celebrate this first birthday. De vuelta a la normalidad, esta parece ser la frase de estos días y con tanta razón. Se disfrutan las fiestas, pero también recibimos con alivio la vuelta a la rutina, yo me incluyo en este grupo.

Back to normal, this seems to be the phrase of these days and with so much reason. Holidays are enjoyable, but we also are relieve to be back to the routine, I included myself in this group.

Antes de seguir con nuestro mini trabajo, quiero mostraros otros regalos que recibí en estas fechas. Empiezo:

Este regalo me lo envió mi hija pequeña, sabe cuánto me gustan las minis y pensó que lo mejor sería un mini regalo, chica lista! Las cosas no están hechas por ella, no pertenece al mundo de las minis, sino que las compro en Etsy y me encantaron! El cojín es una pequeña maravilla. Gracias hija!

This gift was sent to me by my youngest daughter, she knows how much I like minis so she thought that the best thing would be a mini gift, smart girl! Things are not made by her, she doesn´t belong to the world of minis, so she bought them on Etsy and I loved them! The cushion is a little wonder. Thank you daughter!

También recibí estas bellezas de Carolina, awww, son tan diminutas y preciosas, un portavelas y una libreta de notas de cocina. Gracias Caro!

El sorteo que gané en el blog de Carmen, se demoró tanto que ya Carmen lo daba por perdido y empezó a hacer otro que volvió a sortear en su blog. Como dicen por ahí, no hay mal que por bien no venga, la tardanza de este paquete (más de un mes creo!!) hizo que haya otra afortunada ganadora de estas bellezas. The giveaway that I won on Carmen's blog, was delayed so much that Carmen already gave it up for lost and started making another one that then she gave away again on her blog. As they say out there, every cloud has a silver lining; the delay of this package (more than a month I think!) Made another lucky winner of these beauties. Os había contado que estaba participando en dos juegos de Navidad. Uno en el grupo de Facebook "All things Mini" donde hicimos un intercambio de Navidad. A mi me tocó hacerlo con Sharon, una chica encantadora con quien no solo intercambiamos regalos sino que nos hemos convertido en amigas :) Su regalo para mí:

The friend I had to send a gift to was Kittymiau, and as she said that among her plans there was a children's shop, I made some things for it, let me show you:

Las repisas son compradas, pero las pinté de blanco. Las flores y el florero también son comprados pero intenté hacer un bonito arreglo con ellas, y lo demás lo hice yo.

The shelves are bought, but I painted them in white. The flowers and vase are also bought but I tried to make a nice arrangement with them; the rest you see was made by me.

También le envié para sus casitas/ I also sent her for her houses:

A lavender that I love making and fruit and vegetables I have, made by you know who.

Como ven fue una época miniaturil muy fructífera, no he podido recibir mejores regalos ni pasarla mejor. Ahora sí de vuelta a la rutina, ya vendré por aquí nuevamente con los avances de mi casa.

As you can see, it was a very fruitful miniaturial period, I could not receive better gifts or had a better time. Now, back to the routine, I will come here again with the advances of my house.

Mmmm, en pocos días este blog cumple 1 año!! Habrá que hacer algo, no?

El baño de la casa de Rebeca/ The bathroom of Rebecca´s house

Hola/ Hello!

Espero que hayáis tenido un buen fin de año y que este 2018 sea un año positivo para todos. Os agradezco todos vuestros mensajes y deseos y os deseo que los vuestros se multipliquen.

I hope you had a good end of the year and may 2018 be a positive year for you all. Thank you for your messages and wishes and I hope that yours will multiply. 

Hoy os traigo el baño de la casa de Rebeca. Es un cuartito muy pequeño, en el ático, con los techos haciendo de paredes lo que me trajo muchos dolores de cabeza pues reduce el espacio disponible que ya de por sí era muy poco. Así era:

Today I am bringing the bathroom of Rebecca's house. It is a very small room, in the attic, with the ceiling as walls which gave me many headaches as it reduced the available space which was already very small. This is what it was:

Tuve que levantar una pequeña pared vertical al fondo ocultando el hueco pues éste no tenía ninguna utilidad y por el contrario los elementos allí colocados no lucían bien. Os muestro:

I had to built a vertical wall at the back, hiding the empty space as it had no use and on the contrary made the elements placed there look weird. I'll show you:

Dicha pared aunque acorta el espacio, hace que el restante se aproveche mejor y pude poner una balda y un pequeño mueble colgador que hice aprovechando el pie del espejo cuya luna puse en el dormitorio. Unas maderitas, esmalte de uñas para simular el color de la madera y ya.

This wall, although it shortens the space, makes the available space useful so I was able to put a shelf and a small hanging cabinet. I made this piece using the support of the mirror I put in the bedroom. Some wood pieces, nail polish to simulate the colour of the wood and there you go:

Todos los elementos decorativos en estas fotos los hice yo excepto la toalla que es de Myriam67. El cesto de la ropa estuve a un click de comprarlo, pero pensé que bien valía la pena intentarlo y no quedó mal, me gustó.

I made all the decorative elements in this photos except the towel, it is from Myriam67. I nearly bought the laundry basket, but I thought it was worth trying making it and I think the result was not bad, I liked it.

La alfombrilla es de Rafaela. En este punto pensé que todavía le cabían más accesorios y me dispuse a hacerlos aunque algunos fueron comprados (la crema de dientes, vaso y cepillo) y también hay uno o dos regalos (el frasco de sales y el cuadro sobre la puerta).

The rug was made by Rafaela. At this point I thought that I could still fit more accessories and I prepared myself to make some of them. Some were also purchased (the toothpaste, toothbrush and cup) and there are one or two that were gifts (the bath salts jar and the frame above the door).

Mi amiga Carolina me dio la idea de ponerle "vestido" al inodoro, tal cual se usaba antes, esto para darle un aspecto aun más anticuado. Una idea genial, recuerdo esos juegos de baño de mi infancia, hasta recuerdo que se cambiaban en Navidad por unos de motivos Navideños jaja.

My friend Carolina gave me the idea to "dress" the toilet, as was it customary, in order to give it an even more outdated look. A great idea, I remember those bathroom sets from my childhood, I even remember that there were bathroom sets with Christmas motives Lol.

Os gusta? a pesar del espacio reducido, de la pesadilla de empapelar ángulos tan dificiles y de hacer una pared de fondo, me divertí mucho decorando este baño y haciendo sus pequeños accesorios. Ya solo falta poner unas maderitas finales en los bordes y otra que olvidé poner y acabo de descubrir en las fotos. Si tenéis otras sugerencias para este baño o ideas de más accesorios, son bienvenidas.

Do you like it? In spite of the reduced space and the nightmare of wallpapering such difficult angles and making a wall at the back, I had a lot of fun decorating this bathroom and making its accessories. Now I just need to put some moulding on the edges and another one I missed and  I just discovered on the photos. If you have other suggestions for this bathroom or ideas for more accessories, they are welcome.
