Una tienda de plantas/ A plant shop

¿Les ha pasado que tienen muchas ganas de hacer minis, les fluyen mil ideas en la cabeza, sacas el tiempo  y sin embargo nada te sale bien?

Has it happened to you that you really want to make some minis, have a thousand ideas in your head, take the time to do it and yet nothing turns out well?

Llevo una semana intentando hacer mil cosas y todo me queda horrible jaja. Hay tantas cosas que quiero hacer que no logro concentrarme y quisiera ser maga y paf! magia, todo terminado y perfecto! Bueno, realmente no, ¿dónde estaría la diversión?

I've been trying many things for a week and everything is horrible, lol. There are so many things I want to do but I cannot concentrate. I would like to be a magician and  zas! magic, everything finished and perfect! Well, not really, where would the fun be?

La casa de Rebeca ha sufrido por mi indecisión. He hecho algunos cambios.

Rebecca´s house has suffered because of my indecision. I have made some changes:

En la salita de estar he cambiado las cortinas, las otras me gustaban pero no me convencían, se veían muy modernas. Éstas mmm, no estoy segura.

In the tv room I changed the curtains, I liked the others but they did not convince me, they looked very modern. These, hum, I'm not sure.

En la cocina he añadido un embaldosado al fondo detrás de la estufa y este cambio sí me ha gustado.

In the kitchen I added some tiling at the back behind the stove. I do like this change.

Este es el tercer cambio de las cortinas del salón. No logro que me queden naturales. Ahora he hecho este cambio y tampoco me gusta, pero hasta que no lo vea claro se quedará así. Creo que terminaré comprándolas. No me veo yo haciendo un drapeado o plisado decente.

This is the third change of the living room curtains. I cannot make them stay natural. Now I have made this change and I do not like it either, but until I see it clearly it will stay that way. I think I'll end up buying them. I do not see myself doing a decent drape or pleat.

El próximo cuarto de la casa de Rebeca, es el anexo-invernadero. No tenía ni idea que hacer con él porque no me imagino esta casa teniendo un invernadero así con todas las de la ley muy bonito y organizado. Más bien imagino un cuartillo donde se guarden herramientas y elementos de jardín y fregonas y esas cosas. Donde se trasplanten las plantas que luego adornarán el jardín y a lo mejor una pequeña silla y mesa para tomar el fresco.

The next room in Rebeca's house is the conservatory annex. I had no idea what to do with it because I cannot imagine this house having a conservatory, nice and organised. I rather imagine a room where tools, garden elements, mops and those kind of things are stored. Where the plants that will later decorate the garden are transplanted and maybe a small chair and table to take a break. More as a greenhouse.

En esas andaba y todo me ha salido mal, la primera mesa de trabajo ya está en la basura y 5 días después no he avanzado un pelo.

I was trying to do that but everything went wrong. The first work table is already in the trash and five days later I have not advanced at all.

Hoy buscando inspiración, me he puesto a mirar Pinterest y también me he acordado de la tienda de plantas que hice y que no he mostrado aquí. Ver foto por foto de esta tienda, me ha aclarado las ideas y me ha inspirado, aleluya! Como todavía no hay nada hecho, les muestro las fotos de mi tienda de plantas y regalos que me ha devuelto la esperanza.

Today, looking for inspiration, I started looking in Pinterest and I also remembered the plant shop that I made and I have not shown here. Seeing photo after photo of this shop has helped me to clarify the ideas and has given me inspiration, hallelujah! As there is still nothing done, I will show you the photos of my plants and gifts shop that has given me hope.

Así empezó, en una caja de vinos/ It started like this, in a wine box:

Otros muebles reciclados/ Some recycled furniture.

Mis primeras y únicas flores "ave del paraíso". Mi primera lavanda al fondo, mis primeras flores de fimo: tulipanes y calas, mis primeros helechos y primera corona. Esta tienda tiene primeros ejemplares de muchas de mis minis. 

My first and only "bird of paradise" flowers. My first lavender in the background, my first fimo flowers: tulips and calla lilies, my first ferns and first wreath. This shop has first copies of many of my minis.

La flor de Iris en maceta amarilla es una belleza de Carmen (Pekevasión). Ahora que lo veo está muy escondida, habrá que ponerla donde luzca mejor, es preciosa!

The  Iris in yellow pot was made by Carmen (Pekevasion). Now,  I realise it is hidden so I´ll place it in a better spot,  it is so beautiful!

El ramo de flores con el girasol es de Rosa (paperina)/ The flower bouquet with the sunflower was made by Paperina.

Los platos de cerámica pintados con luna y estrellas también son de Paperina 💚💚💚 Algunas de mis primeras teteras.

The ceramic plates painted with moon and stars motive are made by Paperina too 💚💚💚 Some of my first teapots.

Un cactús, aloé y cintas de Carmen/ A cactus, aloe and spider plant by Carmen.

La casita de pájaros sobre el barril, también de las primeras que hice. Las maravillosas hortencias de Carmen, la bromelia también es suya.  

The bird house on the barrel, also one of the first I made. Carmen´s wonderful hydrangeas.  The bromelie is also hers.

Los faroles decorativos, también primeros ejemplares de mi autoría/ The decorative lanterns, also first copies I made.

¿Les gusta? A mí me encanta, sobre todo porque contiene tesoros de algunas compañeras y porque hice muchas cosas y plantas especialmente para esta escena.

De vuelta a la normalidad, esta parece ser la frase de estos días y con tanta razón. Se disfrutan las fiestas, pero también recibimos con alivio la vuelta a la rutina, yo me incluyo en este grupo.

Back to normal, this seems to be the phrase of these days and with so much reason. Holidays are enjoyable, but we also are relieve to be back to the routine, I included myself in this group.

Este regalo me lo envió mi hija pequeña, sabe cuánto me gustan las minis y pensó que lo mejor sería un mini regalo, chica lista! Las cosas no están hechas por ella, no pertenece al mundo de las minis, sino que las compro en Etsy y me encantaron! El cojín es una pequeña maravilla. Gracias hija!

This gift was sent to me by my youngest daughter, she knows how much I like minis so she thought that the best thing would be a mini gift, smart girl! Things are not made by her, she doesn´t belong to the world of minis, so she bought them on Etsy and I loved them! The cushion is a little wonder. Thank you daughter!

También recibí estas bellezas de Carolina, awww, son tan diminutas y preciosas, un portavelas y una libreta de notas de cocina. Gracias Caro!

El sorteo que gané en el blog de Carmen, se demoró tanto que ya Carmen lo daba por perdido y empezó a hacer otro que volvió a sortear en su blog. Como dicen por ahí, no hay mal que por bien no venga, la tardanza de este paquete (más de un mes creo!!) hizo que haya otra afortunada ganadora de estas bellezas. No os miento, ya lo saben, las miniaturas de Carmen son preciosas!! Suerte la mía. Sus cintas son del otro mundo:

The giveaway that I won on Carmen's blog, was delayed so much that Carmen already gave it up for lost and started making another one that then she gave away again on her blog. As they say out there, every cloud has a silver lining; the delay of this package (more than a month I think!) Made another lucky winner of these beauties. I do not lie to you, you know, Carmen's miniatures are beautiful! Lucky me. Her "cinta" plant is out of this world:

You see? I am soooo happy. I have a few of these plants made by Carmen and I could have a hundred and I still would want more, as they are so wonderful! Thank you Carmen!

Os había contado que estaba participando en dos juegos de Navidad. Uno en el grupo de Facebook "All things Mini" donde hicimos un intercambio de Navidad. A mi me tocó hacerlo con Sharon, una chica encantadora con quien no solo intercambiamos regalos sino que nos hemos convertido en amigas :) Su regalo para mí:

I told you that I was participating in two Christmas games. One in the Facebook group "All things Mini" where we did a Christmas exchange. I did it with Sharon, a lovely girl with whom we not only exchanged gifts but have become friends :) The gift she sent:

The friend I had to send a gift to was Kittymiau, and as she said that among her plans there was a children's shop, I made some things for it, let me show you:

Las repisas son compradas, pero las pinté de blanco. Las flores y el florero también son comprados pero intenté hacer un bonito arreglo con ellas, y lo demás lo hice yo.

The shelves are bought, but I painted them in white. The flowers and vase are also bought but I tried to make a nice arrangement with them; the rest you see was made by me.

También le envié para sus casitas/ I also sent her for her houses:

Una lavanda que me encanta hacer y frutas y verduras de mi surtido hechas ya saben por quién/ 
A lavender that I love making and fruit and vegetables I have, made by you know who.

Como ven fue una época miniaturil muy fructífera, no he podido recibir mejores regalos ni pasarla mejor. Ahora sí de vuelta a la rutina, ya vendré por aquí nuevamente con los avances de mi casa.

As you can see, it was a very fruitful miniaturial period, I could not receive better gifts or had a better time. Now, back to the routine, I will come here again with the advances of my house.

Mmmm, en pocos días este blog cumple 1 año!! Habrá que hacer algo, no? 

Mmmm, in a few days this blog is 1 year old! I would have to do something, right?

Regalos que van y vienen/ Gifts coming and going

Hola!

Espero que hayáis tenido una Navidad maravillosa en compañía de vuestros seres queridos y que todavía disfrutéis por montones de las fiestas que quedan.

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas in the company of your loved ones and that you still enjoy a lot the rest of the holidays.

Os recuerdo que estoy de sorteo sorpresa y que os podéis anotar aquí. El 6 de enero, día de Reyes haré el sorteo y os mostraré el pequeño regalo y los resultados.

Estas fiestas han sido muy particulares para mí. Me gusta la Navidad y la disfruto, ya lo he dicho antes. Crecí en la típica familia latina en la que nos reuníamos a celebrarla entre tíos, padres, abuelos, primos, sobrinos, hermanos, nunca eramos menos de 30. Nuestra Navidad siempre fue muy alegre, ruidosa, con bailes, risas, montones de comida y regalos. Así lo fue en mi infancia y así lo fue en la infancia de mis hijos. Pero las cosas cambian y cuando dejas tu país también dejas esas cosas atrás. Ahora la Navidad es más tranquila e íntima y he aprendido a disfrutar de su encanto. En Inglaterra mi hija y mi marido eran mi escudo para espantar las nostagias que acechan en estas épocas. Y aquí en España también, pero este año mi hija no pudo viajar y mi marido que tiene a su hermana enferma, está sola y no ha podido viajar tampoco, ha decidido llevarle un poco de alegría y pasar estas fechas a su lado, lo cual por supuesto yo he apoyado, de eso se trata el espiritu de la Navidad, no? Así que la Navidad este año me ha encontrado sola, bueno con mis gatos 😃.

These holidays have been very particular for me. I like Christmas and I enjoy it, I've said it before. I grew up in the typical Latin family where we met to celebrate it among uncles and aunts, parents, grandparents, cousins, nephews and nieces, brothers and sisters; we were never less than 30. Our Christmases were always very happy, noisy, with dancing, laughter, lots of food and gifts. So they were in my childhood and so they were in my children´s childhood. But things change and when you leave your country you also leave those things behind. Now Christmases are calmer and more intimate and I have learned to enjoy their charm. In England my daughter and my husband were my shield to keep away the nostalgia that lurk in these times. And here in Spain too, but this year my daughter could not travel and my husband whose sister is sick and alone and could not travel either, has decided to give her a little joy and spend these days by her side, which of course I have supported, that's what the spirit of Christmas is all about, isn´t it? So Christmas this year has found me alone, well, with my cats 😃.

Sin embargo, no estoy triste ni deprimida, tengo unos amigos maravillosos que me han adoptado y me han hecho sentir querida y en familia y de paso serán los culpables de los kilos de más que he añadido a los kilos de más que vengo arrastrando hace mucho ya, y que serán nuevamente parte de esos propósitos de año nuevo ja!

However, I am not sad or depressed, I have wonderful friends who have adopted me and made me feel loved and with family and in the process they will be the culprits of the extra kilos that I have added to the extra kilos that I have been dragging for a long time already, and which will be part of those New Year's resolutions again! 

¿Qué más se puede pedir? mis hijos están bien, mi familia está lejos pero bien, tenemos amor, salud, trabajo, sueños. Unos pocos días en soledad no son nada comparados con todas las cosas buenas que tengo. Un año más para agradecer y un año más para vivir y aprender.

What more could I ask for? my children are well, my family is far away but well, we have love, health, work, dreams. A few days alone are nothing compared to all the good things I have. One more year to thank for and one more year to live and learn.

Las minis por supuesto han sido un bálsamo también y a eso he venido hoy a mostraros el ir y venir de minis por estos lares.

Comienzo con un manolillo de Teresa y unos gatitos en punto a los cuales no me he podido resistir. Yo le envié a cambio frutas y verduras y comiditas a los que olvidé tomarles foto.

Miniatures have been, of course, a balm too, and that's what I've come to show you today; the coming and going of minis. 

I start with a little "Manolillo" from Teresa and some knitted kittens that I could not  resist. I sent her fruits and vegetables and food but I forgot to take pictures of them.

No son un encanto?/ Aren´t they cute?

Luego hice un inter con Paloma, ella me envío cositas que llevó a la feria de Madrid y materiales de utilidad./ Then I had a swap with Paloma, she sent me little things that she made for Madrid´s fair and some useful materials.

 Y yo le envié cositas que hice para ella./ And I sent things I made for her.

Otro inter con Lourdes (Siberia). Vivo enamorada de sus cojines, sus alfombras y su px. Mirad que suerte la mía, le pido solo unos cojines y ella me manda un montón y un cuadrito que es una belleza.

Another swap with Lourdes (Siberia). I am in love with her cushions, rugs and crossed stitch. Look how lucky I am, I asked only for some cushions and she sent lots and a small frame that is a beauty.

¿Soy o no afortunada?/ Ain´t I lucky?

Yo le envié comiditas que necesitaba./ I sent her some food she needed. 

También participé en la subasta de la Asociacion Síndrome de Méniere España, que se lleva a cabo a principios de diciembre con subasta de muchas miniaturas de artesanos maravillosos. Vivo enamorada de TODO lo que hace Rosa (Paperina) y pujé por su aportación. Además de ayudar a una buena causa, tuve la dicha y suerte de ser la afortunada ganadora de estas bellezas:

I also participated in the auction of the Spain Meniere Syndrome Association, which takes place at the beginning of December auctioning many miniatures from wonderful craftsmen. I am in love with EVERYTHING Rosa (Paperina) makes and I bid for her contribution. In addition to helping a good cause, I had the fortune and luck of being the lucky winner of these beauties:

Tan pronto llegaron empecé a ubicarlas y debo decir que no me decido donde ubicar la puerta con sus plantas, necesito otro par ja, quedan bien donde las ponga, ¿dónde os gusta más?

As soon as they arrived, I began to locate them and I must say that I cannot decide where to place the door with plants, I need another pair lol, they fit well wherever I put them. Where do you like them the most?

Hace poco recibí un regalillo sorpresa de Sulay, quien hace unas minis fabulosas y ahora está más dedicada a sus muñecas y a los vestidos tan preciosos que hace. Gracias Sulay!

As you see I have been distracted giving and receiving 😃 I cannot complain, I am also playing Santa´s secret friend on Facebook and in the forum which I will show you in a future entry.
