La foto de arriba fue mi primer regalo de cumpleaños, de mi hijo, me preguntó que quería y dije, minis!!! 😁 Entre varios enlaces de tiendas que le di, este fue uno de los escogidos, suerte la mía!!! Me encanta. Todavía faltan algunos por llegar me dicen mis hijos 😊.

The photo above was my first birthday present, from my son, he asked me what I wanted and I said, minis !!! 😁 Among several store links that I gave him, this was one of the chosen ones, lucky me!!! I love it. My children have told me that there are still some presents to come 😊.

Ya viene.../ It´s coming...

Ya se acerca esa época del año y aunque estos tiempos sean muy difíciles, intentemos disfrutar de esas pequeñas cosas que nos trae la vida.

Tengo la cabaña un poco aparcada pues estoy haciendo otras cosillas. Sin embargo antes de continuar quiero mostrar los pocos avances que he hecho en la chimenea, quizás ya no vuelva a trabajar en ella hasta el próximo año.

That time of year is approaching and although these times are very difficult, let's try to enjoy those little things that life brings us.

I have the cabin a bit on hold because I am doing other things. However, before continuing I want to show the little progress I have made on the fireplace , perhaps I will not work on it again until next year.

Como ven estoy avanzando aunque está inacabada, he de hacerle la parte superior, pero va tomando forma.

También se puede apreciar una alfombra muy gastada que hice para la cabaña, a ver si es la definitiva, o no. Para no desaprovechar el material hice además una alfombrilla para mi casa de la playa pues la que tenía la utilicé en otro proyecto. Aquí están.

As you can see I am moving forward but it is still unfinished, I have to make the upper part, but it is taking shape.

You can also see a very worn rug that I made for the cabin, let´s see if it´s the final one, or not. To not  waste material, I also made a mat for my beach house since the one I had I used in another project. Here they are.

Como les decía estoy haciendo otras cosillas, en este caso navideñas, pues se acerca Navidad y me pica siempre el gusanillo de hacer algo con dicha temática. El otro día me encontré en un chino estos arbolitos que tienen un tamaño ideal, y con cosas que tenía y unas bolas preciosas que me regaló Carolina me puse a adornarlos y esto es lo que ha salido.

As I was saying, I am doing other things, in this case for Christmas as Christmas is coming and I always get the bug to do something with that theme. The other day I found in a Chinese shop these little trees that have an ideal size, and with things that I had and some beautiful balls that Carolina gave me I started to decorate them and this is what has come out.

La única dificultad ha sido encontrar el pegamento adecuado pero no han quedado mal, a mí me han gustado, perdonen la falta de modestia. 

The only difficulty has been finding the right glue but they are not bad, I like them, forgive my lack of modesty.

Resulta que se los mostré a mi hija que estaba decorando para Navidad con pequeños adornos pues su piso es pequeño. Ella siempre es muy educada y dice que lindo mami, pero vamos que no lleva el gusanillo de las miniaturas. Sin embargo esta vez se nota que le han encantado más allá de la cortesía, le ofrecí uno para su piso y ha aceptado feliz, ha escogido el del centro pues va con los colores de su decoración. Así que este arbolito viajará esta semana para Londres, me ha hecho mucha ilusión pues es la primera vez que la veo emocionada de verdad con mis minis, a ella especialmente que es minimalista y no le gusta acumular nada.

Well, I showed them to my daughter who was decorating for Christmas with small decorations because her apartment is small. She is always very polite and says things like how cute mommy, but come on, she does not have the miniature bug. However this time I could see that she loved them beyond courtesy, so I offered her one for her apartment and she accepted happily and chose the one in the center as it goes with the colours of her decoration. So this little tree will travel to London this week, it has made me very excited because it is the first time that I see her really excited with my minis, especially from her who is a minimalist and does not like to accumulate anything.

A mí me gustan más los de los extremos, me atraen más las cosas menos tradicionales, el de la izquierda irá en una de mis casitas o una escena, todavía no lo sé, el de la derecha, mi favorito, ya os contaré.

También una cosa llevó a la otra y me puse a hacer unos adornos.

I like the ones on the extremes more, I am more attracted to less traditional things, the one on the left will go in one of my little houses or a scene, I still don't know, the one on the right, my favourite, I'll tell you later about it.

Also one thing led to another and I made some decorations.

Ha sido un fin de semana muy productivo, pero os decía que ya viene y me refería también a mi cumpleaños, no hago muchos festejos casi nunca pero que ya en este blog es tradición un sorteo 😊. Pues sí, entonces el próximo domingo 29 de noviembre, mi cumpleaños, sortearé entre los seguidores que dejen un comentario en este post, uno de mis arbolitos y adornos navideños, los de la siguiente foto:

It has been a very productive weekend, but I was telling you that something is coming and I was also referring to my birthday, I hardly ever do many celebrations but a giveaway is already a tradition on this blog 😊. Armando la cabaña y otros experimentos.

 

Finalmente he armado y pegado las tres paredes de la cabaña y los 2 pisos, falta el tejado y la fachada pero para eso queda tiempo.

Ahora estoy haciendo el pequeño aseo, no sé cómo llamarle, pues solo llevará un váter, Manuel y su mujer ya están mayores y no es cosa de hacer sus necesidades más apremiantes en un váter exterior jaja, como a lo mejor puede estilarse en este tipo de construcciones.

Así que estoy construyendo un pequeño cuartito para alojar el váter debajo de las escaleras, aquí lo ven en más detalle.

Finally I have assembled and glued the three walls of the cabin and the 2 floors, the roof and the facade are missing but there is still time for that.

Now I am doing a small toilet room, I don't know what to call it, as it will only have a toilet. Manuel and his wife are old and it´s better to avoid doing their most pressing needs in an external toilet lol, as maybe it can be done in this type of constructions.

So I'm building a little room under the stairs to place the toilet, here you see it in more detail.

Apenas está en construcción y sin pegar pues he de hacer una puerta que abra y cierre. Por cierto, ¿ven la pared? finalmente logré los colores que quería aunque en la foto no se aprecien, en la realidad están muy conseguidos creo yo, modestia aparte.

Ahora estoy además con la chimenea que también está en ciernes.

It is under construction and not glued because I need to make a functioning door. Btw, do you see the wall? I finally achieved the colours I wanted, although they are not appreciated in the photo, in reality they look good I think, modesty aside.

Now I am also in the making of the fireplace. 

He utilizado papel, cartón y madera, falta el fondo aun y pintar etc. La idea es que sea de piedra por fuera y ladrillos por dentro. La estoy recubriendo con masilla tapajuntas y dado forma de piedras. Cuando sequé cubriré las partes que faltan y daré el color. A ver que tal me va.

Otra cosa que se me ha ocurrido es hacer una estantería con ladrillos. Tengo unos ladrillos a escala que alguna vez compré, son muy chulos. Pensé que sería conveniente tener espacio de almacenaje y quería que fuera rústico, con materiales que estuvieran al alcance de sus habitantes. Mi abuelo (dep) solía hacer toda clase de apaños con materiales que acumulaba, no tiraba nada para malestar de mi abuela (dep) y luego se inventaba toda clase de artilugios. A mi abuela no siempre le hacía gracia pues no quería que su casa se viese mal, pero para esta cabaña los recuerdos me vienen al pelo. 

I have used paper, cardboard and wood, the background is still missing , I need to paint etc. The idea is to be stone on the outside and brick on the inside. I'm covering it with putty and shaping into stones. When it dries I will cover the missing parts and paint. Let's see how it goes.

Another idea I had is to make a shelf with bricks. I have some scale bricks that I once bought, they are very cool. I thought it would be convenient to have storage space and I wanted it to be rustic, with materials available to its inhabitants. My grandfather (rip) used to do all kinds of things with materials he accumulated, he didn´t throw anything away which upset my grandmother (rip), and then made all kinds of gadgets. My grandmother was not always amused because she did not want her house to look bad, but for this cabin these memories come handy. 

Como ven, Manuel ha ido haciendo arreglos y añadidos a su cabaña original, ha construido estos estantes con ladrillos y tablas sueltas. En la foto no salen muy bien los colores, pero a mi me ha gustado la idea. Tabién se puede ver "el cemento" con el que ha pegado los ladrillos.

As you can see, Manuel has been making repairs and additions to the original cabin, he has built these shelves with bricks and some boards. In the photo the colours do not come out very well, but I liked the idea. You can also see "the cement" with which the bricks have been glued.

También ando experimentando con alfombras, quiero que esta cabaña tenga alfombras rústicas, aunque aun no he dado en el clavo.

I am also experimenting with rugs, I want this cabin to have rustic rugs, although I have not yet hit the mark.

Primero se me ocurrió hacerla con materiales que tengo. Este de la foto arriba no sé su nombre, una especie de tejido, para evitar que se deshilachara le puse un borde con cinta pero no me gustó, tampoco sé coser ni tengo máquina que sería lo ideal.

Luego se me ocurrió experimentar con impresiones, para lo cual compré lienzo para impresoras. Las instrucciones son para imprimir con impresora de tinta y no tengo, sino láser. No me gustó el efecto, los colores se diluyen mucho, o fue el archivo que conseguí, total que tampoco. La textura parece un poco plástica.

First I worked with materials that I have. This one in the photo above I do not know its name, a kind of net fabric.  To prevent it from fraying I put an edge with tape but I do not like it, I don´t know how to sew nor do I have a machine, that would be ideal.

Then I wanted to experiment with prints, for which I bought canvas for printers. The instructions are for printing with an inkjet printer which I do not have, but a laser. I did not like the effect, the colours are very faded, or it was the file I got, in conclusion, not good. The texture looks a bit plastic.

También compré tela de algodón para imprimir pues quiero hacer otras cosas. Estuve leyendo muy cuidadosamente los tutoriales de Jodi en su blog "My miniature Madness" y me lancé a hacerlo aunque sea con impresora láser. Probé con una plantilla de toallas de cocina y otros, regalo de Jodi y creo que salieron bien, ahora falta ver que pasa cuando recortas y quitas el papel.

I also bought cotton fabric for printers as I want to do other things. I read very carefully Jodi's tutorials on her blog "My miniature Madness" and I tried doing it even with a laser printer. I tried a template of kitchen towels and others, a gift from Jodi and I think they turned out well, now it remains to be seen what happens when you cut and remove the paper.

Seguí experimentando con alfombras, no para la cabaña sino alfombras decorativas y he de decir que de ahora en adelante ya no las compraré, quedan muy bien, si se consigue un archivo con buena resolución , son ideales. Yo no pienso quitarle el papel que recubre la parte de atrás pues les da consistencia. Investigando para imprimir alfombras, sé que hay quien las imprime en papel terciopelo y otros materiales que dan la textura de una alfombra, desafortunadamente no pude conseguirlos y por ahora  me conformo con la tela de algodón para imprimir.

I continued experimenting with rugs, not for the cabin but decorative rugs. I have to say that from now on I will no longer buy them, they look great, if you get a file with good resolution, they are ideal. I am not going to remove the paper that covers the back as it gives them consistency. Researching to print rugs, I know that some people print them on velvet paper and other materials that give the texture of a carpet, unfortunately I could not get them and for now I am satisfied with the cotton fabric for printers.

Las de arriba han salido un poco apagadas, será la imagen utilizada. Se pueden considerar "vintage". Las de abajo son perfectas!!
