Felices Fiestas/ Happy Holidays!!

As I promised you, today I bring the results of the giveaway, but first I want to show you the Christmas scene finished with the many minis I received from friends. I had to give them an appropriate place.

Let me show you its various corners:

There are miniatures from Birgit (several decorations on the garland, the angel on the harp, the houses and Christmas trees on the shelves), from Carmen the pulling trolley, the games inside and Martin´s book), from Pilar (Santa Claus´ house pop-up book ), from Antonia (the stockings), Paloma (frame on the wall), Anisnofla (the stocking hanging under the window and the cushion on which the cat rests), Myriam (the Christmas bauble boxes and the cross stitch tree frame), Criscolas (the Christmas silver wood tree with signs), Catherine / Mooghiscath (the manger on paper), Solaire (the plaid pillows).

I hope I have not forgotten anyone or made a mistake!

Here with Maya who wanted to be on the photo and also to "decorate" a bit (notice the lights garland dropping above)

 Y con luces/ With lights:

Y aquí ya en su lugar definitivo.

And here in its final place.

It is my first real Christmas scene and I had a lot of fun doing it. For this scene I made the candles, Santa´s flower pot, the pizza table and upholstered the sofa, everything else is gifts, how lucky!

Y ahora sí, el sorteo. Fueron 23 comentarios, todos cuentan, muchas gracias!!!. Aquí vamos:

Calendario Adviento 2019/ Advent Calendar 2019

Hola!

This is the second year that I participate in the Advent calendar organized by Matxalen, to whom I am very grateful for her hard work and of course her confidence in me.

Today I am bringing  a decorative shelf to organize wine bottles. The inspiration came from a real handmade piece that I saw on Facebook Market Place. I'll show you:

The materials we will need are:

Pieces in balsa wood with dimensions as shown in the photo.

Also 4 miniature wine bottles (there are better ones, these are the ones I had on hand):

And a cutter, a sharp object (a pen or a screwdriver may work), glue and dye for wood.

The first step after cutting the pieces is to make the holes. Be very careful or you will break the piece. Something that I learned from trial and error, is that you must cut the pieces with the longest side following the fibre of the wood, if you don´t it will inevitably break. Drill carefully with a sharp object, alternating from one side to the other. If you use bottles like the ones I used, these are the measurements:

If you use different bottles, make sure the holes are in the right place. I recommend that you do it as in the photo, so you can place the holes correctly:

Then dye the wood, in this step I decided to make another small 1.5 x 3 cm piece for the base.

I recommend putting the bottles in place before gluing the pieces.  It will be more difficult after assembling the shelf and you risk breaking it or taking it off.

Luego pegamos todo y voilá!

Then we glue everything and voila!

Yo he puesto un saca corchos.

On the base you can place some glasses or other decorative elements. I have put a corkscrew.

At this point I thought I could make the bottles look nicer with authentic labels, so I searched the Web for some and made them small.

Aren´t they nicer?

And here it is on my house, do you like it?

I hope you liked the tutorial and you try to make it.

As I did last year, I will also have a giveaway; On December 23, I will choose the winner randomly between those who write a comment on this entry. The prize will be a replica of the shelf with bottles.

Felices Fiestas, nos vemos pronto! 🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄

Mis compras/My purchases

Hello!!

As I promised I am bringing today my purchases. I thought that I woul not buy much but my daughter and David gave me money for my birthday to buy my own gifts.

I also thought that as it is a fair where many famous artisans go I wouldn't find many things in my budget to buy. I was wrong. There were many top quality pieces at high prices (all of them worthy) but there were also miniatures and materials for all budgets.

I am starting with materials and useful pieces for my new house and other projects.

Now let me show you, little things I bought because they were cheap, useful or simply because I liked them or just because.

And at last some treats I gave myself  or some pieces that I think are simply gorgeous!

Please don't asked me why I bought these creatures lol, I just thought they were adorable. The two on the right I bought for an specific purpose.

Y mis compras más especiales:

And my most special purchases:

I can't complain, I brought home a lot of new wonderful mini treasures.

At last, I am happy to tell you that I am participating again in Matxalen's advent calendar and on December 14th I will be back with a small tutorial. See you then and enjoy the holidays!

Hugs and kisses,

Alex
