La cocina de Carmen y Tulio/ Carmen & Tulio´s kitchen

Hola,

Deseo de corazón que todos estén bien, sanos y salvos en casa o dónde deban estar y que este tiempo les sea leve.

I sincerely hope that everyone is well, safe and sound at home or where you should be and that this time is not so difficult for you.

Finalmente estoy trabajando desde casa, el gobierno ha endurecido las medidas y en mi trabajo algunos han tenido que parar, otros como yo continuamos con teletrabajo y otros todavía siguen al pie del cañón. Tiempos extraños y muy difíciles. Yo me siento agradecida por lo que me ha tocado, que es en realidad muy poco comparado con la situación de muchos.

El tiempo libre extra me ha permitido terminar la cocina. Os traigo las fotos.

Finally I am working from home, the government has tightened the measures and at work some have had to stop, others like me continue to work from home and others are still at the field. Strange and very difficult times. I am grateful for my situation,  I actually have to endure very little compared to many.

The extra free time has allowed me to finish the kitchen. These are the photos.

No tenía paquetería de comida, solo los paquetes de galletas debajo a la derecha y la cajita de gallina blanca (superior izquierda) que son un regalo de Carmen de Navidad . Pensé que demoraría en rellenar este pequeño mueble pero con el tiempo libre pude hacer suficiente para llenarlo.

I had no packed-food, just the cookie packets on the bottom right and the little "gallina blanca" box (top left) that are a Christmas gift from Carmen. I thought it would take time to fill this small piece of furniture but with the free time I could do enough to fill it.

Luego a rellenar las baldas con accesorios varios.

Then up to fill the shelves with various accessories.

Empecé por el fondo de la cocina.

I started at the back of the kitchen.

Acostumbro a rellenar primero los muebles antes de ponerlos en su sitio definitivo. La mayoría de los accesorios están pegados con blue tag, así evito que si hay un movimiento brusco se caigan y haya un desastre, pero puedo cambiar cosas fácilmente si así lo quiero.

I usually fill the furniture first before putting them in their final place. Most of the accessories are glued with blue tag to stop them from falling off and avoid a disaster if there is a sudden movement but I can easily change things if I want to.

Y listo, ahora os muestro la cocina completa y sus rincones.

And that´s it, now let me show you the complete kitchen and its corners.

Siempre tomo demasiadas fotos y luego es difícil discriminar cual va y cual no. Es mejor que sobre a que falte, no?

I always take too many photos and then it's hard to tell which one goes and which doesn't. Well better to have loads that little, right?

Espero que les haya gustado esta cocina. A pesar de que al empezar no tenía una idea concreta de cómo sería y he ido improvisando en el camino, he disfrutado haciéndola y me gusta el resultado, además de que me enorgullece ver piezas hechas 100% por mí como son el mueble encimera del fondo y la nevera.

I hope you like this kitchen. Despite the fact that at the beginning I did not have a concrete idea of ​​what it would be like and have improvised along the way, I have enjoyed doing it and like the result. I am proud to see pieces made 100% by me such as the counter top cabinet and the fridge.

Minis en tiempos difíciles/ Miniatures in difficult times

Hola,

Primero les deseo que estén bien, sanos y seguros. Son tiempos difíciles, pero los superaremos. Ojalá podamos sacar enseñanzas y algo positivo tanto individual como colectivamente de esta terrible experiencia que nos ha tocado afrontar.

First I wish you are well, healthy and safe. These are difficult times, but we will overcome them. Hopefully we will learn some lessons and get something positive both individually and collectively out of this terrible experience that we have had to face.

Yo sigo trabajando, mi trabajo no figura entre los que se ven obligados a quedarse en casa, pero fuera de ir y volver del trabajo, estamos en cuarentena así que el resto del tiempo en casa, siendo responsable y evitando ser un riesgo potencial para mí misma, los míos y los demás.

I continue working, my work is not among those who are forced to stay at home, but apart from going to and from work, we are in quarantine so the rest of the time I am staying at home, being responsible and avoiding being a potential risk for myself, my loved ones and others.

La foto de arriba es el regalo de mi hijo por Navidad, no lo había mostrado porque no había recibido todo. Resulta que, como vive en México y quería darme un regalo, me envió un bono de Amazon y por supuesto lo gasté en minis. Amazon no tiene una variedad muy sofisticada de minis, son cosas hechas en serie, pero si buscas bien, encuentras algunos tesoros. Lo que veis fue lo que conseguí y la verdad están muy bien, me quede encantada con mi regalo.

The photo above is my son's Christmas gift, I had not shown it before as I had not received everything. He lives in Mexico and wanted to give me a gift, so he sent me an Amazon voucher and of course I spent it on minis. Amazon does not have a very sophisticated variety of minis, they are things made in series, but if you search well, you will find some treasures. What you see is what I got and the truth is, they are very good, I was delighted with my gift.

Últimamente, como muchos quizás, me he refugiado mucho en las minis y mi casa ha avanzado bastante.

Lately, perhaps like many of you, I have taken comfort from working with minis and I have made a lot of progress with the house.

Encontré solución al problema de ajuste del tejado, yupii. Recorté las puntas superiores de las paredes laterales y también una viga que tiene el tejado y permite que ahora sí encaje.

I found a solution to the roof adjustment problem, hooray. I trimmed the top tips of the side walls and also a beam on the roof and now it fits.

Una vez solucionado este problema, me puse a terminar las luces y probarlas. Vaya pesadilla! Volver a unir cables y conectores no es tarea fácil. Nunca lo había hecho antes y no sé sí lo haré otra vez. Al hacer la primera prueba 3 luces no encendían.

Once this problem was solved, I continued with the lights and tested them. What a nightmare! Reattaching cables and connectors is no easy task. I have never done it before and I don't know if I will do it again. When doing the first test 3 lights did not turn on.

Finalmente encendieron todas menos la de la última planta a la izquierda.

Finally all lit up but the one on the top floor to the left.

Resultó no ser problema de cableado sino de la bombilla que estaba suelta, asunto solucionado!!

It turned out it was not a wiring problem but a loose bulb, so problem solved !!

Qué bonita se ve la casa con luces, eso sí. Ved todas las habitaciones:

Le muestro a mi marido y me dice, muy bonito pero no te parece que falta una luz encima de la bañera? No siempre tiene razón jaja, pero esta vez sí.

I showed it to my husband and he said: very nice but, don't you think that a light is missing above the bathtub? He is not always right lol, but this time he was.

Ya casi, casi, la tengo lista para empezar a decorar.

Seguí con el tapizado de los muebles que así lo requerían, empezando con la habitación. Vestí la cama con su edredón y tapicé sillas y banco. Por recomendación de Carolina, también decidí cambiar el tocador. A falta de un banquillo para el tocador, esta habitación está lista para decorar y dar últimos toques.

I have it almost ready to start decorating.

I continued upholstering the furniture that required it. Starting with the bedroom, I dressed the bed with its cover and upholstered chairs and bench. On Carolina's recommendation, I also decided to change the dresser. In the absence of a vanity chair, this room is ready to decorate and add finishing touches.

Más tapizado, falta un pequeño borde decorativo alrededor del tapizado que cubrirá las imperfecciones.

Tengo muchos detalles decorativos a la espera de irlos acomodando, este será el próximo paso. Sin embargo, sé que me faltan algunas cosas, cuadros, cajas y botes de productos alimenticios para la cocina, ollas etc. que aun no tengo y que tendré que ir haciendo poco a poco en los próximos días.

I have many decorative items waiting to be accommodated, this will be the next step. However, I know that I don´t have some things: picture frames, food products in boxes and cans for the kitchen, pots etc. so I will make them little by little in the coming days.
