De teteras y lámparas/ Of teapots and lamps

Hola!

Ahora estoy trabajando en el cuarto de estar de la casa Rebeca. Hay progresos pero ya os mostraré cuando la estancia esté terminada, poco me falta.

¿Os acordais de esos sillones tan horrorosos que os mostré y dije que utilizaría? Bueno aquí están:

Hello! I'm working in the study of Rebecca's house. There is progress but I will show the room when is finished, I'm almost there. Do you remember those hideous chairs that I showed you before and said I would use? Well here they are:

¡¡Qué feos eran!! ¿no? Bueno le he cambiado el espaldar y tapizado con una tela "abuelada" y he aquí el resultado. No serán los sillones más bonitos del mundo, pero se ven cómodos, antiguos y creo yo que van muy bien con la idea que busco. Infortunadamente se me acaboó la tela, solo he podido tapizar uno, estoy a la espera de más tela y espero poder terminarlos pronto.

Debido al parón involuntario y con ganas de hacer algo, me puse a buscar ideas y esto se cruzó en mi camino en Pinterest:


How ugly they were !! weren´t they? Well I have changed the back and upholstered with a "grandmotherly" kind of fabric and here is the result. They will not be the most beautiful chairs in the world, but they look comfortable, old and I think they go very well with the idea I'm looking for. Unfortunately I ran out of fabric, I've only been able to upholster one chair, so I'm waiting for more fabric and I hope I can finish them soon. 

Due to the involuntary stop and wanting to do something, I started looking for ideas and this crossed my path in Pinterest:

Que yo sepa no es una miniatura, es de un sitio de imprimibles y esas cosas, creo, pero cómo me encantan las teteras, se me ocurrió trasladar la idea a mini.

Un poco de fimo, unas teteras básicas, unos abalorios y esto salió:

As far as I know it is not a miniature, it's site for printables and scrap booking, I think. I love teapots, so I thought to use the idea for minis. A bit of fimo to make some basic teapots, some beads and this came out:

Aquí están listas para hornear. Las teteras las hice muy rápidamente, sin embargo otro cuento fue hacer las pantallas de las lámparas en cartón y papel, no es que sea díficil, es que soy un poco torpe manejando papel y recortables. En fin, el resultado:

Here they are ready for the oven.  I made the teapots very quickly, however another story was to make the lampshades with paper and cardboard, not that it is difficult, is that I am a little clumsy handling paper and cutouts. The result:

Mi diseño es más simple que el modelo pero la verdad es que me ha encantado el resultado. Y aquí están mis lamparas-teteras decorando mis casitas:

My design is simpler than the model but the truth is that I have loved the result. And here are my lamps-teapots decorating my houses:

En mi casa andaluza, que no he mostrado aquí, pero que pienso redecorar un poco y mostrar más adelante/ In my Andalusian house, which I have not shown here. I plan to redecorate it a bit and show it later:

De las dos restantes, una tendrá su lugar en la casa Rebeca y la otra... bueno ya veremos 😉

¿Os gustan? Animaros a hacerlas, es laborioso pero no muy complicado y creo que el resultado es muy bonito y original. Al menos a mí me lo parece.

Of the remaining two, one will have its place in Rebecca´s house and the other ... well we'll see 😉 

Do you like them? Try them, it is laborious but not very complicated and I think the result is pretty and original. At least I think so.

El salón de Rebeca II/ Rebecca´s living room II

De vuelta de Córdoba. La ciudad es una maravilla. Para aquellos que no la conocéis os la recomiendo, es preciosa, tiene muchos monumentos dignos de visitar, especialmente la Mezquita-Catedral, realmente maravillosa. 
Back from Córdoba. The city is wonderful. For those who do not know it I recommend it, it is beautiful, it has many monuments worth visiting, especially the Mosque-Cathedral, really amazing.

Lo bueno de las vacaciones es que tienes tiempo, lo malo es que debes aprovecharlas también no solo para descansar y viajar y hacer esas cosas que te gustan sino también para esas cosas que vas dejando y que cuando llegan las vacaciones debes poner al día, médicos, bancos, limpieza, etc. 
The good thing about vacations is that you have time, the bad thing is that you should make a "good" use of it, and not just resting, travelling or doing those things you like but doing those things you always pospone so when vacations arrive you must get on with them, things like going to the doctor, the bank, cleaning, etc.

Han sido estas vacaciones muy versátiles en lo bueno y en lo malo. Pero cómo me lo propuse he dedicado un buen tiempo a las minis y ya casi tengo terminado el salón. 
These holidays have been very versatile in the good and in the bad. But I was determined to work on my minis so I dedicated a good time to them and I have almost finished the living room.

No más blablabla, os muestro/ no more blablabla let me show you:

En la entrada anterior a Feli le parecía que las cortinas a lo mejor no quedaban tan bien. Me recomendó probar primero la decoración y ver, sin embargo a mi tampoco me terminaban de convencer y decidí darles un cambio, ya lo ven. ¡Gracias Feli!
In the previous entry Feli thought that the curtains might not fit so well. She recommended me to try first the decoration and then see, however I was also not convinced myself and I decided to give them a change, here you can see. Thank you Feli!

Era el turno de tapizar, lo cual me gusta mucho si los muebles no son muy complicados. Es increíble lo que un pedazo de tela puede hacer por unos muebles que no dicen mucho, no?
It was the turn of upholstery, which I really like if the furniture is not very complicated. It's amazing what a piece of fabric can do for furniture that does not say much, don´t you think?

Me costó lo suyo encontrar las telas apropiadas, pero Sulay de "aday inlilliput" de facebook tenía maravillas y encontré unos estampados que me encantaron, eran lo que buscaba.
It was hard for me to find the right fabrics, but Sulay from "aday inlilliput" in Facebook, had wonders and I found some prints that I loved, they were what I was looking for.

Aquí empiezo a colocar los accesorios que tenía preparados/ Here I star to place the accessories I had prepared.

Mmm creo que voy bien encaminada pero falta llenar las esquinas de la habitación/ I think I am going on the right direction but those corners need something:

Unos platos, a las abuelas les encantan/ Some plates, grannies love them.

 

¿Os acordáis de esas mesitas-sillas para teléfono? En todas las casas había una jeje, Rebeca tenía que tener la suya. Encontré la mesita perfecta entre mis cosas, le hice un cojín para sentarse y luego añadí el teléfono sobre la guía telefónica que tampoco faltaba. 

Do you remember those table-chairs for the telephone? There was one in every house lol, Rebecca had to have hers. I found the perfect table in my things, I made a cushion to sit down and then added the phone and the phone book, that one was not missing either.

Tampoco podían faltar los adornos de cerámica, figurines o estatuillas/  Nor could they miss ceramic ornaments or figurines.

Una vitrina con la vajilla "de pontificar" o de las ocasiones especiales, esa que a lo mejor solo se saca en Navidad :)/ A display cabinet for the special occasion tableware, that one that may be only taken out at Christmas :)

Todavía me faltan unos pocos detalles, no muchos, unas fotos antiguas en sus marcos y poco más. No he podido tenerlas listas porque ando rebuscando entre mis fotos viejas, quiero que sean fotos reales de mi familia y la de mi marido. Todas las fotos que tengo en mis casas son mías y esta casa por supuesto no puede ser la excepción. 

I still need to put a few details, not many, some old photos in their frames and little more. I could not have them ready because I'm searching through my old photos, I want them to be real photos of my family and my husband's. All the photos I have in my houses are mine and of course this house can not be the exception.

Mi casita inglesa/ My English cottage

Hola a tod@s!/ Hello everybody!

Se acerca el verano y a diferencia de algunos, debido a la naturaleza de mi trabajo, es la época en la que trabajo más horas y tengo menos tiempo libre. Como también hay que aprovechar el buen tiempo, el sol y la playa, dedico menos tiempo a las minis. Pues bien, he avanzado muy poco con la casa de Rebeca y por lo tanto, hay poco que mostrar.
Summer is almost here and unlike some, and due to the nature of my job, this is the time where I work more hours and have less free time. I also try to enjoy the good weather, the sun and the beach so I dedicate less time to minis. Therefore I have made very little progress in Rebecca´s house and have very little to show.

Hoy os traigo mi tercera casa (o segunda si cuento solo las que tengo en mi poder). Algunos ya la han visto, pero quiero traerla a mi blog. Pretende ser una casa en la campiña inglesa, estilo shabby. La ocupa una pareja de mediana edad cuyos hijos ya han dejado el hogar y se han retirado a un pequeño pueblito a disfrutar del campo y la tranquilidad mientras regentan un pequeño negocio, un café/pastelería en la planta baja, cuyos productos elaboran ellos mismos. Espero os guste. 
Today I am bringing my third house (or the second if I only count the ones I have with me now). Some of you have seen it before, but I wanted to show it here in my blog. It pretends to be a house in the English countryside, shabby style. A middle age couple live here. Their kids are gone and they have moved to a small village to enjoy the countryside and a quiet life while running a small business. A cafe on the ground floor where they sell the products they made themselves. I hope you like it. 

En esta casa recibí mucha ayuda de mi marido, la pintura de la fachada en piedra (cartón de huevos), los suelos y paredes salieron de sus manos, todavía no me atrevía a hacerlos yo misma. Sin embargo, empezaba a ser un poco más valiente y la mayoría de los muebles que la conforman fueron tuneados por mí para dar el estilo shabby que buscaba. Aun hoy cuando la miro creo que cambiaría muy poco. Me encanta contemplarla.
In this house I got lots of help from my husband. he painted the stone facade (made with egg carton), the floors and walls are also made by him. At that time I did not have  enough courage to make them myself. However, I was becoming braver and I customised most of the furniture trying to give them that shabby look I was looking for. Today when I see it I think I would change very little. I love to look at it.

Hay muchas cosas e idea mías pero también muchas minis de compañeras miniaturistas. Amo esta casita, está llena de tesoros.
There are many of my ideas and many things made by me but there are also things made by fellow miniaturists. I love this house, It has many little treasures.

La Glicina de la foto también fue una sorpresa de mi marido que hizo reciclando un viejo ramo de flores artificiales. Créanme que a pesar de los materiales es una delicia de ver!
The Wisteria was a surprise from my husband. He made it using an old artificial flowers bouquet. Believe me when I say that despite its material it is a pleasure to watch!

Nuestras casas nunca se terminan, siempre estamos cambiando o agregando cosillas. Las próximas fotos muestran algunos de esos cambios.
Our houses are never finished. We are always changing or adding things. The next photos will show how it looks now and some of those changes:

Esta maravillosa mesa de pasteles fue el regalo de mi amiga invisible, la Navidad de 2015./ This wonderful table was my secret santa gift in 2015.

Como os había comentado antes, estaré más ocupada y por lo tanto no creo que pueda publicar una entrada semanal, sin embargo seguiré publicando los avances de la casa de Rebeca y trayendo cosillas por aquí cuando las haya. As I told you, I will be busier, therefore I don´t think I will be able to post every week, but I will continue to post my progress with Rebecca´s house and other things when possible.
