Patio-Invernadero/Patio-green house

Por aquí estoy nuevamente. Y traigo los resultados del sorteo del primer año de mi blog. No os había mostrado la foto exacta del premio. Este es:

Here I am again. And I am bringing the results of the draw for the first year of my blog. I had not shown you the exact photo of the prize. This is it:

El ganador se llevará la barbacoa tal como la ven, he añadido además un pequeño bol con verduras varias, vale? Dejemos la cosa en suspenso... jeje, al final mostraré los resultados del sorteo que acabo de hacer ;)

The winner will get the barbecue grill as you  see it in the photo. I also added a small bowl with some vegetables, ok? Let´s have a bit of suspense ... lol. I will show the results of the draw at the end of this post ;)

Como les conté hoy traigo el patio-anexo-invernadero de la casa de Rebeca. En la entrada pasada dije que no sabía qué hacer y que encontré inspiración en la tienda de plantas que hice hace algún tiempo. No es una tienda nueva, aclaro porque al parecer no me expliqué muy bien y algunos pensaron que está recién salida del horno. No señor, la hice en marzo de 2016, al menos eso muestra mi facebook, pero mirar sus fotos me inspiró para este patio. En fin, divago.

As I told you, today I am bringing the patio-annex-greenhouse of Rebeca's house. In the last entry I said that I did not know what to do with it and that I found inspiration in the plant shop that I made some time ago. It is not a new shop, I´d like to clarify it because I think I did not explain myself very well and some thought it was recently made. No, I made it in March 2016, at least  Facebook tells me that, but looking at those photos I found inspiration for this patio. Anyway, I am rambling.

El caso es que este patio es un pequeño rincón donde se guardan herramientas y todos los materiales que Rebeca utiliza cuando se pone a jugar con sus plantas y jardín. Ahora habrá que hacerle un  jardín a esta casa, ja! líos en los que nos metemos. Quiero que el sitio se vea usado , un poco sucio y desorganizado.

The thing is that this patio is a small room to keep tools and all Rebeca´s gardening materials she uses when she plays with her plants and garden. Now I will have to make a garden for this house, ha! what am I getting myself into. I want the place to be used, a bit dirty and disorganised.

Empecé haciendo un fregadero/lavadero en cartón pluma al que le di varias capas de tapajuntas y puse un alicatado. Así recuerdo algunos viejos fregaderos de los patios de mi infancia.

I started by making a sink in cardboard then covered with several layers of plaster and some  tiling. I remember some old sinks like this one from my childhood.

Le puse una pequeña anilla a modo de desague y un grifo antiguo que me encanta! Aun tengo que ensuciarlo más.

I put a small ring as a drain and an old tap I love. I need to make it look dirtier. 

También hice unas repisas y luego las envejecí.

I made some shelves and aged them.

Aquí se puede ver una recién terminada y la otra después de pintar.

Here you can see one recently made and another after the painting.

Este es el patio. Amo las baldosas de mosaicos y los pisos hidraulicos pero pensé que la idea es hacerlo lucir viejo no "bonito". Estas baldosas eran muy comunes, no? 

This is the patio. I love mosaic tiles and hydraulic floors but I thought the idea was to make it look old not "pretty". These tiles were very common, right?

Aquí va tomando forma/ Taking shape.

El suelo no me acababa de convencer y lo envejecí aun más usando masilla tapa grietas, que luego quite con un trapo húmedo y dejó esa patina que me ha encantado. Creo que se ve viejo, usado y muy trajinado.

The floor did not quite convince me so I aged it even more. I used plaster, which I then removed with a damp cloth. It left that patina that I loved. I think it looks old, very used and worn.

Puse una tubería al fregadero, falta pintarla.

I also put a pipe under the sink, I need to paint it.

Probando repisas/ testing the shelves.

Y aquí haciendo ensayos con diferentes elementos. Al fondo estará la zona de trabajo de jardinería y con todos sus aditamentos. Y al frente estoy probando si hago una pequeña zona de descanso. 

And here I am playing with different elements. The ​​gardening work area with all its elements will be at the back. And at the front I'm thinking to make a small resting area.

Estos elementos no sé si serán los definitivos. 

Ahora me encuentro haciendo muchos productos de jardinería, abonos, fertilizantes, bolsas de tierra, etc además de pequeñas plantas y esquejes para llenar las repisas y el fondo. 

I do not know if these elements will be the definitive ones. 

Now I am making lots of gardening products, fertilisers, bags of soil, etc. and also small plants and cuttings to fill the shelves and the back.

Si tienen alguna idea y sugerencia son bienvenidas. Todavía no sé que hacer con la pared de la derecha donde están los ventanales. ¿Pongo cristales y ventanas? ¿Cubro la parte inferior? ¿lo dejo todo abierto? Y los ladrones? jaja, lo más fácil sería solo poner perfiles en los arcos y entrada y dejarlo abierto, pero es real? Recibo sugerencias y opiniones, por favor!

If you have any ideas and suggestions, you are welcome. I still do not know what to do with the wall on the right where the windows are. Do I put glass and windows? Do I cover the bottom half? Do I leave everything open? What about the thieves? lol, the easiest thing would be just to frame the arches and entrance and leave it open, but is it real? I receive suggestions and opinions, please!

Regalos que van y vienen/ Gifts coming and going

Espero que hayáis tenido una Navidad maravillosa en compañía de vuestros seres queridos y que todavía disfrutéis por montones de las fiestas que quedan.

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas in the company of your loved ones and that you still enjoy a lot the rest of the holidays.

Os recuerdo que estoy de sorteo sorpresa y que os podéis anotar aquí. El 6 de enero, día de Reyes haré el sorteo y os mostraré el pequeño regalo y los resultados.

Estas fiestas han sido muy particulares para mí. Me gusta la Navidad y la disfruto, ya lo he dicho antes. Crecí en la típica familia latina en la que nos reuníamos a celebrarla entre tíos, padres, abuelos, primos, sobrinos, hermanos, nunca eramos menos de 30. Nuestra Navidad siempre fue muy alegre, ruidosa, con bailes, risas, montones de comida y regalos. Así lo fue en mi infancia y así lo fue en la infancia de mis hijos. Pero las cosas cambian y cuando dejas tu país también dejas esas cosas atrás. Ahora la Navidad es más tranquila e íntima y he aprendido a disfrutar de su encanto. En Inglaterra mi hija y mi marido eran mi escudo para espantar las nostagias que acechan en estas épocas. Y aquí en España también, pero este año mi hija no pudo viajar y mi marido que tiene a su hermana enferma, está sola y no ha podido viajar tampoco, ha decidido llevarle un poco de alegría y pasar estas fechas a su lado, lo cual por supuesto yo he apoyado, de eso se trata el espiritu de la Navidad, no? Así que la Navidad este año me ha encontrado sola, bueno con mis gatos 😃.

These holidays have been very particular for me. I like Christmas and I enjoy it, I've said it before. I grew up in the typical Latin family where we met to celebrate it among uncles and aunts, parents, grandparents, cousins, nephews and nieces, brothers and sisters; we were never less than 30. Our Christmases were always very happy, noisy, with dancing, laughter, lots of food and gifts. So they were in my childhood and so they were in my children´s childhood. But things change and when you leave your country you also leave those things behind. Now Christmases are calmer and more intimate and I have learned to enjoy their charm. In England my daughter and my husband were my shield to keep away the nostalgia that lurk in these times. And here in Spain too, but this year my daughter could not travel and my husband whose sister is sick and alone and could not travel either, has decided to give her a little joy and spend these days by her side, which of course I have supported, that's what the spirit of Christmas is all about, isn´t it? So Christmas this year has found me alone, well, with my cats 😃.

Sin embargo, no estoy triste ni deprimida, tengo unos amigos maravillosos que me han adoptado y me han hecho sentir querida y en familia y de paso serán los culpables de los kilos de más que he añadido a los kilos de más que vengo arrastrando hace mucho ya, y que serán nuevamente parte de esos propósitos de año nuevo ja!

However, I am not sad or depressed, I have wonderful friends who have adopted me and made me feel loved and with family and in the process they will be the culprits of the extra kilos that I have added to the extra kilos that I have been dragging for a long time already, and which will be part of those New Year's resolutions again! 

¿Qué más se puede pedir? mis hijos están bien, mi familia está lejos pero bien, tenemos amor, salud, trabajo, sueños. Unos pocos días en soledad no son nada comparados con todas las cosas buenas que tengo. Un año más para agradecer y un año más para vivir y aprender.

What more could I ask for? my children are well, my family is far away but well, we have love, health, work, dreams. A few days alone are nothing compared to all the good things I have. One more year to thank for and one more year to live and learn.

Las minis por supuesto han sido un bálsamo también y a eso he venido hoy a mostraros el ir y venir de minis por estos lares.

Comienzo con un manolillo de Teresa y unos gatitos en punto a los cuales no me he podido resistir. Yo le envié a cambio frutas y verduras y comiditas a los que olvidé tomarles foto.

Miniatures have been, of course, a balm too, and that's what I've come to show you today; the coming and going of minis. 

I start with a little "Manolillo" from Teresa and some knitted kittens that I could not  resist. I sent her fruits and vegetables and food but I forgot to take pictures of them.

No son un encanto?/ Aren´t they cute?

Luego hice un inter con Paloma, ella me envío cositas que llevó a la feria de Madrid y materiales de utilidad./ Then I had a swap with Paloma, she sent me little things that she made for Madrid´s fair and some useful materials.

 Y yo le envié cositas que hice para ella./ And I sent things I made for her.

Otro inter con Lourdes (Siberia). Vivo enamorada de sus cojines, sus alfombras y su px. Mirad que suerte la mía, le pido solo unos cojines y ella me manda un montón y un cuadrito que es una belleza.

Another swap with Lourdes (Siberia). I am in love with her cushions, rugs and crossed stitch. Look how lucky I am, I asked only for some cushions and she sent lots and a small frame that is a beauty.

¿Soy o no afortunada?/ Ain´t I lucky?

Yo le envié comiditas que necesitaba./ I sent her some food she needed. 

También participé en la subasta de la Asociacion Síndrome de Méniere España, que se lleva a cabo a principios de diciembre con subasta de muchas miniaturas de artesanos maravillosos. Vivo enamorada de TODO lo que hace Rosa (Paperina) y pujé por su aportación. Además de ayudar a una buena causa, tuve la dicha y suerte de ser la afortunada ganadora de estas bellezas:

I also participated in the auction of the Spain Meniere Syndrome Association, which takes place at the beginning of December auctioning many miniatures from wonderful craftsmen. I am in love with EVERYTHING Rosa (Paperina) makes and I bid for her contribution. In addition to helping a good cause, I had the fortune and luck of being the lucky winner of these beauties:

Tan pronto llegaron empecé a ubicarlas y debo decir que no me decido donde ubicar la puerta con sus plantas, necesito otro par ja, quedan bien donde las ponga, ¿dónde os gusta más?

As soon as they arrived, I began to locate them and I must say that I cannot decide where to place the door with plants, I need another pair lol, they fit well wherever I put them. Where do you like them the most?

Hace poco recibí un regalillo sorpresa de Sulay, quien hace unas minis fabulosas y ahora está más dedicada a sus muñecas y a los vestidos tan preciosos que hace. Gracias Sulay!

Llega la Navidad

Hello everyone!

Me encanta la Navidad aunque donde vivo ahora la noto menos, no sé si será porque nuestras familias no están cerca o por alguna otra razón pero he de decir que en la blogosfera sí se nota la Navidad. Hace poco recibí una sorpresa maravillosa, así sin más, totalmente inesperada, llego a casa y me encuentro con un paquete enviado desde Alemania!! No me lo podía creer.

I love Christmas although where I live now I notice it less, I do not know why, maybe because our families don´t live close or for any other reason but I have to say that in the blogosphere Christmas is very present. 

Recently I received a wonderful surprise, just like that, totally unexpected, I came home and I found a package sent from Germany !! I couldn´t believe it.

¿Que hice para merecerlo? no lo sé, pero llegó desde Birgit y su maravilloso blog BiWuBaren on the Blog. Seguro lo conocéis y si no pasaros y divertiros con las maravillosas aventuras y ocurrencias de Fluby y Rosie, a mi me encanta, me río y divierto un montón además de maravillarme con las miniaturas de Birgit. Bueno me enredo yo sola, os muestro:

What did I do to deserve it? I do not know, but it came from Birgit and her wonderful blog BiWuBaren on the Blog. Surely you know it but if you don´t, visit it and have fun with the wonderful adventures and sillyness of Fluby and Rosie, I love it, I laugh and have a lot of fun in addition to marvel at Birgit´s miniatures. Lo que había dentro de los paquetes unas maravillas, vedlo vosotros mismos, unas tarjetas de ensueño, unos detalles navideños de los que me temo no tomé fotos, pero que ya verán ubicados  y un calendario con Fluby y Rosie!! A Fluby le encanta pasar las hojas del calendario cada mes y esta vez yo le acompañaré desde aquí. Es precioso. Gracias Birgit.

What was inside the packages was wonderful, see for yourselves.  Some beautiful cards, some Christmas details that I am afraid I did not take pictures of, but that you will see later in place and a calendar with Fluby and Rosie !! Fluby loves to turn the pages of the calendar every month and this time I will accompany him from here. It is beautiful. Thank you Birgit.

Normalmente no hago nada navideño en mini, pero los detalles que me mando Birgit me inspiraron y aprovechando que en el grupo de facebook "All things mini" se iba a celebrar un "chat night" con minis navideñas saqué unas cosillas que ya tenía y decoré un farolillo que llevaba ratos dando vueltas por ahí.

Normally I do not do anything in mini for Christmas, but Birgit´s gifts inspired me and as the facebook group "All things mini" was going to hold a "chat night" with Christmas miniature creations I took some things I already had and decorated a lantern that had been hanging around there for a while.

Os muestro, ya saben más fotos de las necesarias jaja, de cerca, de lejos, con luces, sin luces, por cierto las luces son también un regalo de Birgit:

Let me show you. More photos than necessary *lol*, close ups, from distance, with lights, without lights, btw the lights are also a gift from Birgit:

Los abalorios metálicos de copos de nieve y de arbolito, las luces navideñas y ese osito tan bonito y chico del frente son de Birgit (a los que olvidé tomarles foto antes, pero aquí los tenéis). La corona y la vela de TerEdu, el plato con copa, tarta y dulces de Axion1969 y la tira navideña de arriba y adornos al lado del arbol son de Sulay. Yo solo hice los rollos de papel de regalo del fondo.

The snowflakes, the little tree, the Christmas lights and that beautiful little bear at the front are from Birgit (which I forgot to take photos before, so here you have them). The wreath and candle from TerEdu, the plate with a cup, cake and candies from Axion 1969 and the Christmas strip above and ornaments next to the tree are from Sulay. I only made the wrapping paper rolls at the back.

Os gusta? A mi me encanta la verdad. Ya tengo algo navideño en mini 😊

Bueno, ya me iba, pero como saben me encantan los sorteos, no solo participar sino también hacerlos y así retribuir parte de la ilusión que traen. ¿Cómo no hacer un sorteo en Navidad? imperdonable! Así que os traigo un pequeño regalo que sortearé entre las personas que sean seguidoras y comenten esta entrada el proximo 6 de enero cuando se celebra el día de Reyes aquí en España y se comparten los regalos. Mi pequeña contribución para ponerle una pizca más de ilusión a esta Navidad. Y como los regalos de Navidad son sorpresas, éste también lo será, ok? (no penséis que es algo muy grande por favor!)

Well, I was leaving, but as you know I love giveaways, not only to participate in them but also to organise them as a way to be thankful for the joy they bring. How not to make a giveaway for Christmas? unforgivable! So I will have a small giveaway for the people who are followers and make a comment on this entry. The draw will take place next January 6th when the Three Kings is celebrated here in Spain and the gifts are shared. My little contribution to add a little more excitement to this Christmas. And since Christmas presents are surprises, this one will be too, ok? (Do not think it's something very big please!)
