I only made one entry in May, and it is that although I was close to finishing it, the last touches gave me one or two headaches. But here I am again finally showing the finished or almost finished house.
When I first showed the living-room, I said I needed a plant or two. Well, the fact is that I wanted a plant I saw on Birgit´s blog so I decided to order the kit and make it. It is a palm tree and is fantastic, I recommend this miniaturist, the materials are of excellent quality and come with very clear and easy to follow instructions.
Bonita, no?
Pretty, isn´t it?
Then I continued with the planters on the facade. Because they are exposed I did not want to complicate myself with very elaborate flowers that the dust can damage. A gift from Caro was perfect, some small mini trees that I took apart and arranged like flowers.
First I made the planters with cardboard, which I painted and aged to make them look more real.
And here are the flowers which I complemented with moss, also a gift from Carolina.
For the other facade I used plant remains that I have among my stash with some cut flowers. So I this is it:
But something was missing ... When I made the interior facades I told you that I had some ideas for the windows, the fact is that the first, second and third ideas did not work 🤦♀️. This is the main reason for my delay, the facade seemed very bland and nothing worked.
Then I had an idea and thanks to the lock down been relaxed , now we can go out and most shops are open. I took a trip to a variety store and luckily I found what I was looking for, some scrapbooking labels that seemed ideal :
Also as you can see, very cheap, 3 for less than 1€. With paint and scissors I made the perfect decoration for the windows, or that seems to me because I am very happy and satisfied with myself Lol.
Isn't it much better? I think so.
Maybe later I will put some other things, for now I declare it finished. I have the idea to do other things for the facade and the interior, but more as individual projects to do when I feel like it.
Now I want to show you a photographic summary of all the rooms. If you are a good observer, you may notice that I have added or changed an accessory here and there: :
After all the lights turned on without a problem, the light in the bedroom on the left did not work, I don't know what happened, I tried everything but there was no way. I will have to change it when I find another like it, sometime in the future ahhggg.
And now I show you Tulio and Carmen already taking possession of their house and enjoying it:
Some photos did not turn out as well as I would have liked, too much light, but I hope you have enjoyed this little house, and how step by step I transformed it to make it the ideal place for Carmen and Tulio. Thanks for joining me on this adventure.
Antes/ Before:
Después/ After:
Now I leave you with some photos of the houses of Carmen and Tulio and Rebecca, because Carmen and Rebecca are sisters as well as neighbours !! Lol.

ResponderEliminarThe palm plant is wonderful, Alex, great job!
ResponderEliminarThe planters are wonderful and well filled with cheerful colored plants of all sort, the facade of your dollhouse looks wonderful now.
But what a great find to cover up the uppersides of the windows, it looks really amazing!!
What a pity that the lights didn't go on at the left....hope you can find the disturber.
The house looks absolutely lovely and so cosy, a good place to live ;)!
I even spotted a future resident....through one of the windows, yes, it was Tulio ;)? I can see that Carmen and he, both feel very at ease and at home. Rebecca is lcuky now her sister is living next door, especially now ;)!
Thanks for showing us the result of your work, dear Alex.
Stay safe, take care.
Besos/Hugs, Ilona
Besos.
Looking at your house, I realized how much work you invested in getting these stunning results. It's almost like furnishing a real house but with much harder to find objects. I love the photo where you show how it looked at the beginning together with how it looks now (I won't say the end because there's never an end with dollhouses interiors.)
ResponderEliminarIt was very interesting to read and follow your photos. Thank you for sharing.
Hugs, Drora
I so enjoyed looking at all of the photos, Alex, and each time I looked I could spot another exciting detail which adds to the story of Carmen and Tulio! I just love how you've packed every space with every one of life's details and in such a stylish way. You can tell that the owners are proud of their life and their home! The window decorations were the perfect touch to take the exterior from cute to outstanding! I love the touch added by the window boxes, too! You have completed another heirloom dollhouse and in such record time! I love seeing the sister's homes side by side and can't wait to see who or what will move to the neighborhood next! Thanks for taking us along on this wonderful journey!!!
ResponderEliminarUn beso
I LOVE what you've done with the flower boxes and the window inserts Alexandra! They have added such a fresh, interesting and unique addition to the finished exterior of this Warm and Welcoming home! Carmen and Tulio have not only settled in nicely but are obviously Smiling and HAPPY to be living in such a comfortable home with such a Beautiful view of their thriving flowers!
ResponderEliminar"Finished" is the one word I don't like about dollhouses... not for the projects of others and for sure not for mine! *LOL* But apart from this personal dislike I've enjoyed this post sooooooo much! The finishing (*aaaahhhrrrggghhh*) touches you've made are stunning - these tags were a wonderful find, now the facade of the house got this special extra touch of personality. Bravo for noticing the potential!
ResponderEliminarYour palm turned out awesome... aren't Ebe's kits fantastic? They only have one dangerous side effect - they're addictive. *LOL* And among all the fantastic details shown in your photos there was one that put an extra smile on my face: The fridge decorated with magnets and drawings of the grandchildren. This is the kind of detail that makes a scene vivid.
But most of all I enjoyed seeing Carmen and Tulio so happy in their home... what a darling couple... and the owners of a wonderful home. And what fun that they're living next to Rebecca.
Wonderful work - you have every reason to be proud of yourself of this stunning makeover. And although it's a pity that the bedroom lights were that nasty... but this means there is still work to do... and you know by now... I don't like dollhouses when they're finished. ;O)
Hugs
Birgit
