Unos pocos avances/ Small progress

Hola,

Entre mis propósitos este nuevo año estaba el de hacer al menos 2 entradas por mes, y ya en Febrero mis propósitos se han ido al traste. He estado trabajando, sí, pero no con la constancia que debería. Confieso que el trabajo de medir, pintar, esperar que se seque, y poner maderas simulando molduras no me encanta. Pero finalmente he terminado "la base" de las 4 habitaciones en las que he estado trabajando. 

One of my new year´s resolutions was to make at least 2 entries per month, and already in February my resolutions have gone out of the window. I've been working, yes, but not with the pace I should. I must confess that I do not love the job of measuring, painting, waiting for it to dry, and putting wood simulating mouldings. But finally I have finished "the base" of the 4 rooms in which I have been working.

En el salón finalmente terminé todas las molduras. Una vez puse las del cielo raso en blanco, me pareció que quedaba un poco simple y añadí una cenefa decorativa y creo que di en el clavo. Al menos a mi me gusta el efecto.

También añadí una roseta, la lámpara y unos apliques en el techo.

In the living room I finally finished all the mouldings. Once I put white ones on the ceiling, I thought it looked a bit simple so I added a decorative border. I think I hit the spot, at least I like the effect.

I also added a rosette, the lamp and some decoration on the ceiling.

En la cocina también puse una cenefa en la parte superior, añadí un alicatado a la pared del fondo en el área del fregadero y terminé la nevera, hecha 100% por mí.

In the kitchen I also put a decorative border on the top, added a splash back to the sink area and finished the fridge, made 100% by me.

En el baño molduras, apliques y una ventana!! Qué os parece?

En el salón molduras arriba y abajo, yo los llamo zócalos, más apliques en el cielo raso y esta es mi primera casita con luces convencionales. Espero que todas enciendan cuando esté terminada. Las he probado antes, pero qué miedo me da! Podéis ver que el suelo también es de madera como el comedor. Lo hice con el papel adhesivo imitación madera. Pero no creáis que es simple. Fácil sí es, pero igual hay que recortar las piezas una por una y luego pegarlas también individualmente. Paciencia! Me tomó 3 días, me aburría y lo dejaba para más tarde, pero finalmente logré terminarlo.

In the living room I added mouldings above and below, I call them skirting boards, more decoration on the ceiling and conventional lights, this is my first house with them. I hope they all light on when it's finished. I've tested them before, but it's scary! You can see that the floor is also made of wood like the dining room. I did it with the wood imitation adhesive paper. But don't you think it's simple. It is easy, but you still have to cut the pieces one by one and then also place them individually. Patience! It took me 3 days, I got bored and left it for later but finally I managed to finish it.

Para más inri de mi lento progreso, el viernes pasado tuve un accidente. Quería hacer una pequeña viñeta de Valentine´s y mientras usaba un cuter tratando de despegar algo, hice mucha fuerza, se resbaló mi mano y me hice una herida profunda importante. Terminé en el hospital con 6 puntos de sutura. Ya va sanando pero obviamente estoy trabajando a un ritmo aun más lento.

On top of my slow progress, last Friday I had an accident. I wanted to make a small vignette for Valentine´s and while using a craft knife trying to take something off, I put a lot of force into it, my hand slipped and gave myself an important deep wound. I ended up in the hospital with 6 stitches. It is already healing but obviously I am working at an even slower pace.

Para animarme un poco y comprobar que voy bien, me he puesto a ir acomodando los muebles.

Tener en cuenta que faltan muchos elementos decorativos, tapizado, cuadros, adornos, etc. Esto es solo una prueba para ir tanteando el terreno y ver de lo que dispongo.

To cheer me up a little and check that I am doing well, I have started to accommodate the furniture.

Keep in mind that many decorative elements, upholstering, paintings, ornaments, etc. are missing. This is just to test the water and see what I have.

Seguramente algunas cosas cambiarán.

Ahora me dispongo a hacer la habitación superior, la alcoba de Carmen y Tulio. Debo hacer muchas modificaciones y tengo muchas ideas en la cabeza, solo de pensarlo me da un pequeño vértigo estomacal jaja. Por lo pronto os muestro la paleta de colores.

Now I am preparing to make the upper room, Carmen and Tulio's bedroom. I have to make many modifications and I have many ideas in my head. Just thinking about it gives me a little stomach vertigo lol. For now let me show you the palette.

En esta casa me he propuesto no terminar la decoración con accesorios de ninguna habitación hasta no tener paredes, suelos, luces y molduras terminadas, así que es todo por hoy. Espero veros pronto. Un abrazo.
